Twilight, the Movie!

I got to go see Twilight last night and I actually liked it! :) In fact, I can't wait until I can go and see it again! Sort of lower-budget than I had expected, but what can you expect from a newer director and a smaller production company? I think they did a pretty good job considering that they were trying to fit 498 pages worth of content into a 2-hour time slot. The wierdest thing for me was not hearing Bella's thoughts and instead watching things happen without the narration that you get in the book--so it seemed a little lacking to me because of that. All in all, I recommend it. The baseball game is really cool, and of course the ballet studio scene is pretty realistic. I even will applaud them for the job they did when Edward shows Bella what he looks like in the sunlight. Rob Pattinson as Edward wasn't as bad as some people made him out to be, and I think he and Kristen Stewart did quite well portraying our favorite characters. Some stuff was downright corny (like Carlisle's make-up job and some flashbacks we see), but I guess you even get some of that in the book when I really think about it. I definitely got a lot of laughs out of it, but there were also times where I was on the edge of my seat. Not all that I had hoped for, but I went into it knowing it could never be as good as the book, and I really wasn't disappointed!

I'm a Alice! I found out through TwilightersAnonymous.com. Which Twilight Female Are You? Take the quiz and find out!

Wow, I pretty much agree with everything you posted! Tom and I went to a matinée on Friday and had the theater to ourselves. It was great. I too had things thought they did great and not so great. My only disagreement with what you wrote was that Jasper and Edward look so very HUMAN in the fight that it loses some of the marble-like vampire fighting qualities. I'm not sure how they couldn've done it better, but it looked like they were trying to choke each other, which of course could never happen. Also, the moment Jasper and Edward first confront each other in the baseball field is really cheesy. But I too think they did a good job to put as much in without it all being in Bella's head as they did. Everything they changed, which was tons, was very understandable and didn't bother me much. I'll be interested to see what people think who haven't read the book first.
Of course you're an Alice! BTW she was my favorite Cullen by FAR, the most like in my imagination. Oh, one more thing, what's with them having them all THUD around so loud when they jump from high up, etc? I wasn't expecting the Stephenie cameo, though I'm sure if I'd been on her website she probably mentioned it.

I'm still trying to decide if I like it... (And Su, Jasper is Alice's significant other. We know you mean James.) It was super cheesy, which I can almost forgive, but...

I was very disappointed in the music, especially reading about Stehpanie's inspiration from her music. (I expected more rock and I didn't really like Bella's lullaby).

I wish they had worked more on the character development. It seemed very disjointed. I'm hoping things will come together in the next one?

Awesome to here you liked it. It hasn't arrived in our little Utah town just yet. I hope it comes to our theatre or I will have to wait until it comes out on DVD and rent it. Living in the stix can have its drawbacks. lol.
